Feedback armour, defenses and life on warrior side
After been playing both evasion/es monk and warrior. My conclusions on Armour and defenses are following:
Issues: * Armour feels bad to pick up. With every monsters overwhelm or armour breaks you or deal so much damage its effect is non effective. * Sorcery ward feels wierd and bad as a 4 point ascension but would have been amazing as a spirit gem and makes elemental damage more handled for armour users. * Lack of life% on the warrior side of the tree. Building defenses on the warrior side of the tree feels pointless. ES just makes the lifepool larger and evasion prevents way more damage. * armourpassives on the tree is way too narrow. * Liferecovery feels lackluster compared to the ES recovery. Suggestion makes sorcery Ward a spirit gem similar to Ghost Shroud instead of ascension. Make armour passive notables maybe even the whole wheel to boost maximum life or increase resistance. Similar to what happend to the warrior side of the tree in poe1. Kind Regards. Last bumped on Jan 28, 2025, 9:52:04 PM

Enemies breaking and overwhelming armour was indeed a deranged design choice.
Sorcery ward being a spirit gems is an interesting idea. I think the lack of life on the tree would make sense if armour was actually good at reducing damage taken, but as of now warrior can't do anything except strength stack and cope. Armour on the tree does feel a bit narrow compared to the other defences. Life recovery would be more comparatively good if armour actually made you lose less life from hits instead of being garbage. Armour just needs a complete overhaul to actually fit into this game. I have a whole post covering that if it peaks interest: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3667538 |

Defenses in poe 2 need a overhaul imo

I had posted my own thread of proposals here: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3699608
My thoughts are that Armor/Life simply lack the tools necessary to be as viable as ES/EV builds, on top of flat out needing a buff to Life acquisition. IDK about Sorcery Ward, but that is a damn interesting ascendancy node (not bothered making a merc yet, crossbow is too clunky and don't feel like running one as melee right now). The fact that Armor becomes useless on heavy enough hits is also extremely dumb, but if we would at least get some tools and reliable Life acquisition it might not be so bad. |

" Yeah. Offense and enemy damage scales exponentially but defenses, most notably life scale linearly. The end result is that you just invest everything into offense and defenses get the leftovers, basically the bare minimum. It becomes very obvious when you compare HC and SC builds - in poe1 a build using the same ascendancy and same skills would be VERY different, but in poe2 they're essentially the same. |
