Ritual in SSF

Let me start by saying that I have absolutely loved the EA experience so far. I have played just one SSF character since launch and have enjoyed every inch of content. I'm not someone who likes to complain and as POE 1 veteran since 2012, I have nothing but the utmost faith and respect in GGG.

I'm sunk in ~400 hours now and am level 96 ssf on an invoker monk, have best in slot gear and maxed out all atlas trees. Except Ritual. How are we supposed to level the ritual tree in SSF? I found one audience at level 91-92 which I failed due to not knowing the mechanics, and have found no more since despite spending at least 30 hours target farming rituals. No valuable omens, no valuable currency. Stuck with no atlas points. I'm sorry, but for this point in endgame and this much time invested into my character, this is ridiculous.

The problem is that the point my character is at, my gear is almost completely maxed out save for a few pieces of ritual exclusive gear (omen of whittling, omen of corruption, ingenuity) and I do not have the means of investing into being able to target farm for this. It SUCKS. I love experiencing all the content from an SSF perspective, and ritual is the one piece I have not been able to dip my feet into. This needs addressing.

To add the above:

I understand it is RNG, and that I may have just had some poor RNG in this area. I also understand I accept the risk of this occurring by playing SSF. My problem is more so with how the atlas trees are designed; why is it so damn hard to get the first points into the tree? Once you have 4 and even 2 points for the tree, it becomes much easier, more exciting and more interesting to max out the rest of tree. This is the opposite of how it should be. The last few points should be the hardest to get and the first few relatively easy.

Breach, delirium and expedition are all the same. My first simulacrum took about 10x longer to amass than the 10th one. It's created a situation where a given mechanic is incredibly difficult to get into yet easy to maximise. It makes no sense, it feels bad, and it discourages you from exploring all modes of content.
