Are Endgame map events supposed to be... just "impossible"?

So I have a lvl.76 Infernalist currently.
Minion build... and all I can do is constantly run around, maybe cast a firewall and not stop moving, otherwise the mobs might delete 50% of my health in one go.
And I can only hope that no group of mobs simply decides to focus me instead of my skeleton squad.

But this is not even my main point of concern here. =)

Everyone who plays the endgame content knows that some maps contain stuff like rifts or delirium mirrors.
So yeah... I feel like I am doing them wrong.
Or rather they are just impossible and here is why.

Rifts spawn like an endless wave of mobs around me which I can at least survive by now but advancing "into" the rift? IMPOSSIBLE.
I would immediately get overrun and killed.

And then we have the delirium mirror.
It creates a cool, stylish foggy like dimension that lasts only about 30 seconds or so and then I get thrown out again.
I know you can follow the fog, or at least try it.
And inside are also enemies belonging to this event.

In one map it even bugged and the fog never disappeared which I liked a lot and thought this would be the norm.
But sadly this is not the case. For a brief moment I even had a boss-bar with a very unique sounding boss in my 2nd last delirium map.

But forget approaching it.
Whatever I did or did wrong, I dunno.
The fog disappeared again and I was thrown out.

So where am I going with all of this?

GGG - Can you please stop having those events come with a timer?
It makes me feel like such a LOSER to survive a map in which even a single screw up can kill me, to look forward to making this special event... just to remember either me or my class is trash and be thrown out of it like I am a worthless worm and should just stop playing the game.

It it so demoralizing.
Even surviving the event is demoralizing.
Please change it man.

There is SO MUCH stuff in your game that is just utterly FRUSTRATING.
Ever so often and time and time again.
This is one of these contents.
Please change it.
Stop having a timer on this events.

Hi there! You seem to be new to PoE.

In **Path of Exile**, **Delirium** is a unique mechanic that introduces a **Delirium Mirror** within the game world, activating a fog that significantly amplifies the difficulty by strengthening enemies and adding new challenges. As players navigate through the fog, they can accumulate rewards by defeating these enhanced enemies, which can lead to valuable loot. The encounter can either be manually ended by exiting the fog or will conclude after a certain duration, adding an element of strategy to reap the most benefits.

Lowering the difficulty in **Delirium** encounters within **Path of Exile** can be a bit tricky since the mechanic is designed to add a layer of challenge. However, you can try these strategies:

1. **Stick to the Edge**: Instead of diving into the densest parts of the fog, stay closer to the edges where enemies are less numerous and a bit weaker.
2. **Clear Quickly**: Speed is key. The faster you clear the enemies, the less overwhelmed you'll become.
3. **Improve Your Build**: Make sure your character's build is optimized for survivability and damage output. Invest in life, resistances, and effective skills.
4. **Use Defensive Items**: Equip items with high defense stats, and use flasks that provide instant healing or defensive buffs.
5. **Practice**: Get familiar with Delirium mechanics in easier areas before tackling the more difficult maps.

Changing the waystone tier can help manage the difficulty of Delirium encounters. Lower-tier maps generally have weaker enemies and less challenging mechanics, making Delirium encounters more manageable.

Map mods are special modifiers that can appear on maps and significantly alter gameplay. These mods can be **prefixes** or **suffixes**, and they affect various aspects of the map, such as monster spawns, item drops, and overall difficulty.

Follow the above to find a way to overcome the game challenge.

Good luck exile!
It sounds like your build is just bad.

Since you are a very new PoE player, I highly recommend using a proper build guide.

This seems to be the most valuable tip here.
I already did it in fact but I stayed on the waystone levelrange I currently have to complete 10 of, which seems to have been a mistake.

Dude I am using a Witch with minion build, flameskulls that explode, fireskellies with 5 skillgems by now which all have synergy, use the curse that lowers flame resist, my flamewall too has synergy...
... and on PooTube they all say this is the plus-ultra. ;)

But hey while I write this I found a chestpiece just 10 minutes ago which had such good value's it DOUBLED my passive energyshield.
Guess the RNG gods really ignored me til now.
It's +20 quality now, has two sockets and I threw in two more runes that enhance its defensiv value's. I'm new yes but don't think im that noobish.

Meanwhile when my "Icemonk" stays the same, I would just DANCE

through the same endgame maps while my dancemoves kill everything around me with zero effort.
I dunno if it's me or Witch is just an underdog.
Chose her because of Infernalist and I was hyped at the Demonform.

And then I found out the Demonform disables my minions and is more like a 15 second hype joke before you have to deactivate it again or suicide incoming.
But yeah being new definitely screwed me a few times.
I'm proud to have lasted this long.
