Unexplained instant death in POE 2

Hi ! I've died several times in game and I have absolutely no idea why...

For example, today, during an expedition I died in a completely unexplained way, I think something attacked me but on the other side of the screen, where I couldn't see anything, I didn't see anything. nothing could be done, I was one shot with no possibility of dodging anything.

Is it normal that mobs can attack us when we don't even see them? Is it normal to have a one shot like that? Knowing that I'm in endgame and that dying costs me part of my exp bar which takes a very long time to increase after level 90, I admit that it's very frustrating to die like that without knowing what caused you. killed.

This is generally not okay, and you will find GGG will endeavour to fix instances of OP skills that cause death from off-screen.

If you are on PC, and would like to contribute to fixing instances like you are experiencing, I would recommend using Nvidia instant replay or Radeon ReLive to capture your deaths. Nvidia instant replay for example can capture the last 5 minutes if your gameplay (which is very useful for unexplained deaths). If you have updated drivers, the software will already be installed on your PC ready for you to capture your deaths, so minimal effort on your part (unless you are console).

I have a similar issue. I don’t feel it is a bug, but I find it incredibly annoying that i seem to die most of the time from unknown reason. My character is well geared, great res etc, and i can tank a boss no problem but most of the time my deaths ressemble something like this : a level 79 map (even though i usually do 81-82) full health, full es, no major curse or intense modificator, no enemies deal me any damage on the whole map and all of a sudden I go from full health to dead without my omen even being used. I never saw any aoe, no major attack, sometimes i wasn’t even close to a mob when that happen or I didn’t even saw a « dangerous » attack.

Anyway. Playing on xbox here. I love this game but man this is just highly frustrating and I feel I can’t improve or change something if i honnestly have no idea how I died. It feel like my character is just having an heart attack every 2-3 days haha GREAT! I

Death really really really feels like a roll of the dice instead of actually dying from something trivial and that is terribly annoying.

I also experienced something similar in the expedition missions. I have 7k energy shield and 1.5k life and all of a sudden I am just dead as if a bomb would have just killed me. We really need a combat log.
