Oneshot slam boss attacks

Am i missing something here? i have maxed resistances, 3000ES, 1560 Life and 3500 mana that serves as extra shield. and one slam attack from a boss still oneshots me.

Some boss actions are not meant to be defended but dodged. They make the damage (nearly) undefendable. Some of them even bypass block chance.

The highly telegraphed attacks tend to fall into this category.
Thanks for all the fish!
I feel ya.

I got farmed in a Harvest (ironic!) a day or two ago. Those big "bear" kinda enemies with the AoE slam.

Had a yellow one with "increased aoe" affix. Also, my map had "increased aoe" affix. He legit one-shot me, when I was not only behind him, but he was in the corner of my screen. Only way for me to survive was to Flame Dash 2 or 3 times offscreen as soon as I saw him wind it up.

It was stupid. Super artificial. Like most PoE deaths!

This is how PoE 2 "wants to be". You have (had) this in PoE 1 too; you were never meant to tank a Shaper slam or a Phoenix explosion, but power creep has made that more or less trivial these days.

Hell, "boss one shots" are probably the main reason why armor is designed as it is; you're not meant to tank big hits, you're meant to avoid them. The moment they introduced the dodge roll, you knew that avoiding boss slams would be the center of "mechanics".

While this certainly makes boss fights more... Engaging(?), it also begs the question; why build tanky, if it serves no purpose in boss fights?
Sometimes, just sometimes, you should really consider adapting to the world, instead of demanding that the world adapts to you.
Yeah, you are missing dodge roll

Don't stack aoe on mobs next time and you'll be fine
