witch chaos poison build far to weak.

I've built two witch builds one on blood and one as externalist. only to struggle with all chaos or all poison build/variations. Magnitude of poison with all testing trying to get the time maximized with all nodes . it all seems underwhelming. maybe its great with arrows but as a witch with no minions. I've tried maximizing crit with poison, max physical i can reach, and max chaos. i read every wiki n see chaos and physical help poison damage but after every point i can muster into chaos and poison it feels useless. trying contagion n essence drain had to be abandoned early as being swarmed all time. its great if u pull it off but essence drain misses EVERY first shot. contagion is single target and poison doesn't seem to spread.
I want to make a witch work without minions.
early on hex blast works with bone cage but as u reach level 58 to 70 its way under performing with poison (with 3 poison gems) fails to make a difference.
bonestorm works for bosses but poison soso
hexblast with poison terrible and cant kill bosses
contageon and poison useless
essense drain and poison seems better than above but underwhelming with
escalating toxins, building toxins, low tolerance, crippling toxins all selected. i walked away as a 57 year old poe veteran as a sad boy that cant get this witch to work.
All i wanted was a poison brew witch.
Have your testers or anyone made a decent one?...all the guides i have followed are useless and made just to get hits.

Anyway love your game and the way the the zones are different and how i have to swap armour and change gear for different zones or bosses.
The level of detail in graphics are fantastic and over all u have made me far more addictive game than poe1.
