Suggestion for Improving Loot System
Hello Path of Exile Community and Support Team,
First of all, I’d like to thank the entire team for their hard work on Path of Exile and the upcoming sequel. The game’s depth and complexity are truly impressive. However, I have a suggestion for improving the loot system, particularly for endgame players. The Problem Manually collecting currency items like Exalted Orbs, Vaal Orbs, and Breach Splinters can become repetitive and tedious. Many players use loot filters to highlight only valuable items, but manually picking up these currencies disrupts the gameplay flow over time. Proposed Solution Integrate the loot filter system with in-game pets to streamline the collection process: Filter-Based Pet Looting: Pets could automatically collect currencies and other small items visible in the player’s active loot filter. Selective Item Looting: Rare and unique items visible through the filter, such as high-value weapons or gear, would remain for manual collection, allowing players to evaluate these items individually. This system would automate repetitive tasks while preserving player control over important drops. Benefits Streamlined Gameplay: Automates the collection of commonly picked up items, saving time and reducing monotony. Player Agency: Keeps significant loot, like rare or unique items, under manual control. Filter Integration: Leverages the existing loot filter system, ensuring customization and player choice. Thank you for considering this suggestion. I’m happy to discuss it further if needed and look forward to hearing the community’s thoughts! Last bumped on Jan 30, 2025, 3:28:23 AM

Since pets are only obtainable through Cosmetics and Supporter packs. People will find this as a Pay-to-Win mechanic.
However, they could give us a quest that can give a free ugly pet somewhere in Act 4-6 that has the same feature as you mentioned. I'm curious if GGG would lean towards this idea but would be a huge QOL win if they do. I would also be willing to spend more on pets just to change their looks. |

I really like this idea—they could add a basic pet to the game so that everyone can benefit from it.
Having pets collect currency and small fragments would save time and make the gameplay experience more enjoyable. It would add a new dynamic to the loot mechanics and eliminate the tedious process of constantly clicking on the screen. This way, pets wouldn’t just be cosmetic objects cluttering the screen; they would become useful companions, and we’d have more reason to buy cute costumes for them. It would be an incredible time-saver, and I hope GGG considers implementing such an idea! |

yes incredible time saver for bots.
Introduce this today, and tomorrow 1div=5000exalt. PoE1 necropolis league: 700 chaos orbs on the ground, go pick them up one by one. |

" This pet mechanic wouldn't be a problem when it comes to bots. They already know how to pick up stuff and can do it faster then players anyway. I'm in favour for it. Picking up gold and shards/orbs isn't really necessary. Especially since the gameplay is slowed down compared to PoE1 (except late endgame), this would certainly help to speed up the game while keeping the core-gameplay slow (the fights). |
