Why does a Shrine that converts drops into gold exist? Who'd seriously use that?

First, who'd want their mirrors converted into gold?

Second, there's a 5k gold cap per pile. So a valuable item dropping would give you at most 5k. It'd be kinda interesting if a Divine Orb was converted into 100k+, but I'd still not use it unless I was desperate for gold maybe, but never for 5k gold.

Remove the gold cap per pile or remove the shrine

Just remove that shrine. Nobody wants gold ffs.

yep, one of the worst decisions they made. do 'ez respec' some other way

The other Shrine that has a possibility to make loot drop corrupted is worse. There is no world where you would not want to first saturate the affixes, then socket and quality your loot, before corrupting it.

So the Shrine is a debuff more than anything. There's no reason ever to use that Shrine.

Now if that Shrine will always give loot full affixes, full sockets, full quality, before corrupting it, then it makes sense.
