Possible Fix for Latency Spikes After the Last Patch (0.1.1)
After the last patch (0.1.1), I started experiencing latency spikes that were unrelated to FPS, and my connection seemed fine. So, I tried a few things to solve the problem.
First of all, I followed the troubleshooting guide from GGG https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3072628 and did everything listed there first, but it didn't work. While testing the IPs of some instances with WinMTR, I noticed significant packet loss on every instance that I tested. I checked with my ISP to see if they had made any maintenance or changes over the past few days, but they said they hadn’t. Luckily (maybe), I had faced a similar issue in another game some time ago, and to solve it here on PoE, I used the following commands, one by one in CMD: netsh interface tcp set global autotuninglevel=normal netsh interface tcp set global ecncapability=disabled netsh interface tcp set global rsc=enabled netsh interface tcp set global rss=enabled netsh interface tcp set global fastopen=enabled netsh interface tcp set global prr=enabled Restart your computer to apply the changes. WinMTR BEFORE(The IP used is from an instance on the São Paulo server. For more information on that, check the GGG troubleshooting guide https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1377789.) WinMTR AFTER The same commands I used to solve the latency issue in the other game seem to work here in PoE as well. Now my game is running smoothly again. Hope this helps!
