Path of Exile 2: A Tale of Two Players - 🤬🔥🤬🔥SHIT🤬🔥🤬🔥
The Casual Perspective: Frustration and Overwhelm
Spoiler
As an average gamer with limited time, I find Path of Exile 2 to be an incredibly complex and time-consuming experience. While the game offers unique and enjoyable aspects, its current state is overwhelming for casual players like myself.
Pain - NORMAL PLAYER says: " The complexity of the game's systems is a major barrier for those of us with jobs and families. The obscure mechanics and hidden requirements make it nearly impossible for average players to enjoy the game without investing an unreasonable amount of time. Key Issues for Casual Players: * Overwhelming number of systems to learn * Lack of clear explanations for core mechanics * Time-consuming process to build effective characters The Pro Gamer's Analysis: Depth vs. Accessibility
Spoiler
As a professional game critic and experienced player, I recognize Path of Exile 2's potential while acknowledging the significant challenges it presents in terms of player accessibility and game mechanics.
Dex - Hard Core Player says: " While the depth of the game is appreciated by hardcore players, the current implementation risks alienating a significant portion of the potential player base. The game needs to strike a balance between complexity and approachability. Professional Recommendations: * Implement more transparent skill progression * Develop clearer in-game explanation mechanisms * Create an intuitive interface for complex systems * Balance complexity with newcomer-friendly design Finding Common Ground Both perspectives highlight the need for Path of Exile 2 to evolve. The game must maintain its core depth while creating more transparent progression systems and developing user-friendly onboarding experiences. Shared Concerns: * Excessive complexity reduces market accessibility * Current systems alienate casual players * Need for better in-game explanations and tutorials Conclusion: Path of Exile 2 has the potential to be a masterpiece that caters to both casual and hardcore players. However, it requires immediate attention to its design philosophy to ensure long-term success. By addressing these concerns, Grinding Gear Games can create a game that is both deep AND accessible, satisfying players across the spectrum of experience and available playtime.
Spoiler
The future of Path of Exile 2 depends on its ability to welcome new players while retaining the depth that hardcore fans love. With the right adjustments, it could become a standout title in the ARPG genre.

" You're a "professional game critic" but use multiple emoji's and the word "shit" in your title of feedback posts? Along with caps and shouting more expletives in your feedback? Yea okay then. Mash the clean

Its more like the illusion of complexity.
The skill tree is almost pointless because the "choice" is essentially you choosing a good or bad build. Itemization is sifting through endless RNG until you get something that fits your build. Skills themselves, like the skill tree come in 2 tiers: usable and garbage. Gameplays is.... well you hold down a button for 45 seconds per map then the map is over. If you arnt playing a build that does this you are either in act 1 or dying constantly. So this game isnt complex, its just a cluttered railroad. |

I have a job and family and think the complexity's fine
helps that if I don't understand something I read up on it rather than fly off the handle sure I am probably going to follow a build guide rather than go it alone, no biggie I'm also planning on getting civ 7 when's it comes out, and spent a fair few evenings playing Europa universalis and crusader kings, I like games with some weight behind them couldn't stand diablo 4 endgame |

Emoji man should try poe1 if the thinks 2 is complicated lol

The whole poe1 community for the last 2 years were all begging for poe2 to be less complex to open the door for new players. But obviously even that was not enough.
