POE 2 Progression block from failed mechanic

I was progressing through the second Trial of Sekhemas when I beat the boss but somehow was instantly killed at that moment. The boss was frozen when it died. The situation is this:

I can not go back in and I am missing points for my ascended form.


-As the boss was killed it considers the trial passed to an extent.

-Something one shot me as the boss died. The loot from the boss dropped to the ground. (This is lost, whatever, just hit the tag for boss defeat)

-The game sent me back to the checkpoint which is the entry to the trials because of the death.

-I cannot re-enter the trials as I cannot obtain a key to enter from Balbala.

-Not being able to re-enter means I cannot get to the treasure room with the panel to obtain my points.

-My character is now missing points I have no other way to obtain, potentially breaking progression.


Solutions tried:

-Give it time to acknowledge reset required. (Not working)
-Re-log entirely. (Not working)
-Try progressing on another character and coming back. (Not working)
-Talk to Balbala to obtain new key. (No option for new key)
-Check relic stash. (No required key available)

My questions here for the devs:

Am I just locked now and on a wasted character?

Am I forced to restart a new character?

Can a key be generated to fix the situation and sent to me or have the quest flag turned off so I can obtain a key to do the trials again?

What additional options are available to try?

Update:

Still in Act 2.

I had received the trials key again to run through. From what I see for information the ascended points I could not receive until Act 3. So this was just an extra run..?

Regardless I cannot seem to get back in now. Perhaps the Chaos quest in Act 3 will fix it?
