Ritual in party

Hey,

I'm playing with a friend, and we always play together in a party. He was the party leader and died, but I survived and completed the remaining rituals on the map. However, I couldn’t buy anything because I didn’t use the map device to open the map. Even after being promoted to party leader, it still didn’t work.

Is this intended? And if so, wouldn’t it be more enjoyable if this was changed?
