Checkpoint spawn location

I did a +13 map "Steaming Springs" and here did the start checkpoint spawn within an inaccessible area out of reach.
Can't really put a screenshot of it here, but to describe it did it spawn within a circular cage which I could walk around but never get into since its "outside" the map.
