scavenged plating skill sounds dumb too
hello,
the description of the "scavenged plating" buff sounds like it won't actually be useful. it says that unique enemies allow the scavenged plating to stack up to 10 times, but you only ever fight 1 unique enemy at a time, so how will it ever stack to 10? since you most often fight normal or magic enemies, this means the skill basically just provides 4-6 thorns damage for 8 seconds at a time, but only if you manage to break their armour before killing them. Since most normal enemies die in 1-2 hits, i doubt this skill will ever actually trigger, and even then, who cares about 4-6 thorns damage when my average dps at this stage is well into the hundreds. please provide buffs that actually help, rather than just sound good. thanks. -az Last bumped on Jan 25, 2025, 5:01:05 PM

The main point of Scavanged Plating is providing an Armour buff to ur character. The 10 stacks from Unique enemies is a change they did with the last Patch and it actually works in a way that if u break the armour of 1 unique enemy u'll get 10 stacks.
U can get 10 stacks while fighting normal monsters aswell, u just have to break their armour faster than the stacks run out. It's also possible to break enemies' armour when u 1 shot them, so it's not that hard to do in endgame. I can't speak about the thorns, but it's definitely possible to make a dedicated thorns build using Scavanged Plating aswell. It won't be worth much without actually building around tho. |

" As a curiosity, do you think thorns is a physical damage attack that can procc life/mana leech ? |

" Mhm, I have no idea. It should definitely be physical, but I don't know if it's considered an attack. Knowing GGG I think it isn't. Haven't really looked into thorns damage, I only know that mathil made a build around the mechanic, didn't watch the video tho. |

Interestingly, thorns damage counts as an attack but it counts as an attack originating from the enemy which is receiving the damage. This means enemies which apply bleeding on hit can cause your thorn damage to bleed that enemy instead.
