Zalmarath, the Colossus
IMHO GGG should nerf the damage from Zalmarath's knife thrust attack by ~50%.
This is an Act2 miniboss but it's knife thrust does enough damage at level 27 to one-shot most level 65 Softcore builds (fresh character/server). The level 27 Zalmarath knife thrust deals ~1,800 damage pre-mitigation. At level 53, in "act 5", the knife thrust attack deals ~5,000 damage. This is enough damage to one-shot most endgame softcore builds. Even if you cut the damage in half, i bet it will still do enough damage to one-shot 95% of players during the campaign on a fresh start. Last bumped on Jan 24, 2025, 9:30:19 AM

you can easily kill him just get near to him dodge sometimes and boom easy boss

" i know this but it is besides the point. Just because you can avoid an attack does not justify the attack being an insta kill one-shot. By your logic, why not make every single one of his attacks/abilities do 10,000dmg because technically you can dodge/avoid all of them? Sorry but that's terrible balance. Not that i'm against insta-kill one shots being in the game. But it's a question of when is it appropriate to introduce these into the game. In general GGG has usually only ever put these in endgame content, endgame bosses, pinnacle bosses, etc. Having this in Act 2... on a miniboss.. seems like the wrong time/place. Besides, the other point i'm making is that even if you cut the damage in half it would still be enough to one-shot MOST players. Which if that is the intent of this attack, as a gotcha for newbies, it's way overkill and at 50% damage it would still largely accomplish its purpose.
