Disconnect during Simulacrum

Great, just lost my Simulacrum because I got a server side disconnect and portals closed.. Major setback for someone whos not swimming in divines!!
Finally hotfix the boss retries!!! And how is it possible to pause the game with ESC but my portals get closed when I disco?! If theres single player mechanics then stick to it!!! Really getting fed up with these time wasting mechanics.
