How to play and download via steam?

Good afternoon, my friend gave me a key for PoE2, I entered it on the website, then went to my profile settings and added it and linked my account to Steam. Why is it that when I log into Steam I still need to buy PoE2 and I can't download it? How can I play PoE2 via Steam?

I have the same problem.
Bought via xbox and the Poe2 page tells me I have no access to Poe2 and therefore can't get a key. I've sent 2 Emails to the support and get no response. How can I resolve the issue? |

If you'd like to play via the Steam client you would need a PC access key. Purchasing the Xbox Early Access pack would only grant you access on Xbox, so you'll need to get a PC access key to play on PC. I hope this clarifies things!

Alright, thanks for the response. Then I'll wait until this miscommunicated bug gets resolved and GGG accepts the fact that this practise is a customer rip-off.
