Allowing the slower place of campaign in maps
Hi, as i have played a little more, i am missing the slower, more methodical gameplay in the maps, especially in the bonus mechanics.
Most of them are pretty much tuned for fast paced gameplay and punishies you for being slow. Either by how much reward you get (if any), or they straight kill you. Would it be acceptable to allow the slower players or playstyles to participate in it? I think i would greatly benefit build diversity at least on lower level of gameplay. Now, i feel like speed is only viable way to play. I mean if you kill mobs slower, you are inherently "punished" by lower amount of loot you can get in a certain amount of time. But i feel like most of the mechanics "punishes" you again by swarming you to death or ending before you manage to kill the rares/bosses. Do we really need this double dip in punishment for choosing something other than speed? And if something like dynamic spawning of mobs or longer (or no?) timer on events is too much to ask for and it would trivialize the content, i think we could get some atlas nodes to slow down the mechanics. Right now almost all of them makes them more dangerous for more reward, but it would be nice to have the option to ease them up a little for less efficency. In the end, meta builds and top players should not be affected since they are zooming anyway. But it might open up the endgame for others, allowing them to learn better, give them more space to optimize and experiment to eventualy get to the max speed on their therms or stay slow and methodical. Good idea.
But it really sum up to the fact that PoE2 is a frankestein monster with a soul-inspired early game/campaign and a direct portage from PoE1 for the endgame. This is even more polluted by the fact that PoE1 fans want to keep PoE1 gameplay and balance, while PoE2 should have been a much more different game with different gameplay and endgame and far less focus on loot-generation and trade. |

" you're saying that path of exile players want to keep playing path of exile?! truly unbelievable... " Nobody at GGG ever said that the game would be much less about loot generation and trading... that's your opinion, I don't see why you'd be more right than PoE1 fans. Your opinions are simply different. This licence is based on a system of recurrent leagues, and GGG needs players to return to each league and buy packs for the game to be profitable. Transform the game into something slower and with less player interaction and you'll end up killing all the replayability of PoE. GGG have repeatedly said they didn't wanted for Poe2 to be a remaster of Poe1 with enhanced graphics but all the Poe1 hardcore have jumped the wagon and are pushing the game to be just that,as they like their niche.
