chaos ascendancy

Finished the first part of chaos ascendancy the first 4 trials, and was allowed to pick / spend two points. However, I could not actually use the points, it would not let me select skills to put the points in. After 2 min I clicked out of it skill tree after not being able to actually spend the points and poof it said quest complete, but I never got to spend the two points and now they are gone...

How can I get my 2 points back? The trials say you won't receive ascendancy points for chaos at my level doing it again. so I basically lost them... not good...

help?
