Time-Lost Jewel Chests/Drops - Trial of the Sekemas

Hi all,

I was wanting to share my experience to hopefully get some insight, or provide feedback for GGG.

I have been trying to farm jewels of all types from Trial of the Sekemas. This includes Spectrum, Time-Lost and of course normal ones as well. I have literally run it about a dozen times all the way to the very end. However, I have literally only had just one opportunity to get any non-basic jewels (i.e. ones that aren't from the Royal chests). That one chest that was bestowed upon me was a Spectrum chest. Absolutely no Time-Lost chests though. Note that I am very thorough when checking for the Gold Time-Lost Chests.

I will be honest, I really do not enjoy the Trial of the Sekemas content. Successfully getting to the end ~45mins(ish) later to no meaningful reward is frankly a kick in the ball and makes me resent my time being wasted. I just want to farm Time-Lost jewels to improve my build or sell and make a little bit of currency. My understanding is that there is no other place to farm these jewels (with the exception of some specific pinnacle boss reward jewels).

I find this to be a dreadful gameplay experience, and was curious as to whether or not I am alone in feeling this way. What has been the experience of you all? Is there any "trick" to efficient unique jewel farming?

I look forward to reading all your responses.

Thanks.

I've had runs where I reach the end with 7-10 gold keys and not even ONE ROYAL GOLD CHEST spawns. Goes without saying that on those runs no time-lost nor spectrum chests as well.

All the other gold chests are underwhelming as hell, at the very least it would make sense if they dropped either higher unique chance of the bases and/or guaranteed higher mod tiers from the rares

At the very least give us a way to increase the chance of good chests (relics maybe?)
Perhaps the name "Time-Lost Jewels" is an homage to the amount of time you will lose trying to farm them? :) :(

This is excellent. I laughed in real life. I share your problem OP.

RNG is a monster worse than any pinnacle boss in the game.
Thanks for the replies so far.

Speaking of RNG - I feel like the layering of chest spawn RNG on top of the RNG of the actual jewels/rolls is unnecessarily punishing and quite unfortunate.
time lost chest spawn frequently but the jewels are crap anyway i make more currency from royal chest. (also bc it's a pain in the ass to search time-lost jewel in the trade site)
Also i probably have done around 50+ run and i have never seen a spectrum chest :'( running lv 80 with desperate alliance relic. So idk do i need to do 81+ trial cause i've seen lvl up to 82 keys will it improve spectrum spawn ? does this chest even exist ? :D
And did not the lvl of the zone use to level up after each trial ? now it is stuck at lvl 80 can't even drop 82base or 20skills. Ninja nerf ?

All of my runs were with level 80 coins. I haven't had any higher than level 80 drop for me before.

I just checked the trade website and it seems that even the level 81 or 82 coins still say "Area Level: 80" - so I would assume the drop rates would not be any different?

The one Spectrum chest I did come across was on my first time killing the final boss, and that was when my character was weaker and so I used a level 65 coin.

Whether or not the Time-Lost jewels are "crap", the ones I am after START at 12-15 Div so I would prefer to try to farm them if I can.
I've run ~100 trials. The time-lost chests are indeed too rare; from my estimation, around 1 in 10 runs I got one of them. I urge GGG to increase their spawn rate. The spectrum chest should remain as is however, as it contains chase items that are guaranteed to be good; not RNG items like the time-lost chest.

The current chest selection makes the Sekhemas trial feel unrewarding in most runs. Loot in this case is limited by the keys you can pick up - there is no reason to not have a little better chests at the end. I feel pretty safe to say that no one cares about the armor, weapons, or class-based chests; their spawn rate is a bit too high. I'd much rather see a few more royal, misc, and relic chests.

I'd go even further than that though; the trials need a little more reward in general. The removal of guaranteed currency drops compared to Sanctum from POE1 really hurt how good you feel about completing most runs. To be honest, the only reason I ran so many is because you can get decent movement speed in there, whereas you move like a slug in maps.

Lol!

Here's my small sample data; I ran about 10 trials in the last days (I think three were lvl 80, others slightly lower). Died once + couldn't finish the boss once (ran out of flask charges on my Poisonous concoction pathfinder halfway through the final boss, lol) - so that's 8 end rooms;

- 2x Grand spectrum chests (one ruby life, one elem.resist sapphire)
- 2x Time-Lost chests (7 jewels total)
- Quite a lot of royal chests

---

So, maybe on the lucky side? Dunno. Relics chests are ok too, everything else is trash. At least the gold chests should drop 100k not those paltry sums.

Something about these jewels feels very odd. Same as simulacrum nearly ~30 t4 sim's and counting didn't see a single megalomaniac, and wiki says its common, wtf, unbug us.
