POE2 Sacrificial Heart deleted ?

Hello, I'm not sure if I'm using the right method, but I'll give it a try:
when I first arrived at act 3 utzaal in normal mode, I looted a sacrificial heart that I didn't sacrifice on the altar and continued on my way. I launched the cruel mode and once again arrived at act 3 utzaal I looted a new sacrificial heart. I ended up with 2 hearts in my inventory, one obtained in normal mode and one in cruel mode. Not having paid much attention to this item in my inventory the first time, I figured I'd deal with it later. That moment arrived and I went online to see what I could do with it. I went in search of an altar, found it and sacrificed one of my two hearts to it. I thus obtained 2 talent points.

However, I didn't think much about it and (stupidly) tried to throw the first heart I'd obtained out of my inventory: it simply disappeared. That's when I asked myself what the point of having two hearts was, and someone in the chatroom explained to me that I had to sacrifice 2. My question is this: on the internet, it said that hearts couldn't be deleted. However, I was able to get rid of one without any problems. So are my two talent points that I should have obtained with the first heart I deleted lost forever? Is there any way to reloot one of them?
