1 portal and map mechanics.

I understand the want for player decisions to matter. But I really think we should get more than 1 portal. Shoot I would be happy with 2.

At it's core, I am incentivized to clear the map and then go back and run league content. Because if you die before the map is completed. You have to run the map all over again but with none of the content.

It feels bad to spend the time setting up multiple towers to juice a screen of maps, then a potentially unseen threat to just invalidate all the work going into the map.

If you die in a map you lose:

1. Experience (Personally I dont really mind this one.)
2. Ground loot
3. Any league mechanics you invested into.
4. Need to run the map a 2nd time, but with no incentive to do so.

I enjoy challenging games, I like games to have depth. But when I line up towers, use my good tablets, pick my well rolled map, and end up dieing. I loose my momentum and log out for the night.

There is a fine line between challenging and punishing game play. Personally I feel like the punishment being bad enough to demotivate me enough to log out. then it is to harsh.

I have played a ton of PoE1. I have invested a mountain of hours into other risky games like EFT and Rust. Some would say I am a glutton for punishment. Yet I still feel the need to come post this. I think it says a lot.

They keep a portal because of someone's giant ego and because he already has his pocket full of gold and he is happily riding his yacht, and he wants to make us poor people suffer. As long as that is in place, don't count on me to play their game.

It wasn't targeted at you but all the players who mostly come to these threads and lament about their hearts bleeding due to 1 portal per map (alternatively xp loss on death).

Fair enough. Honestly I really enjoy this game, there are just some pain points that need to be addressed. I fully intend to test each iteration of EA.
