Chaos Trial - Survive 1:20 minute map variant can be sequence-broken and unable to proceed

In the 'Survive for 1 minute 20 seconds' stage, there is a map variant where you can see a broken bridge - and the exit is on the other side of the broken bridge.

With Blink, you can teleport over to the exit side, Blink down to the trial area, then activate the trial without ever activating the 'standard' elevator you take to the trial area normally.

However, doing it this way breaks the exit elevator. It comes down and glows, but it cannot be activated. I can blink back up to the 'entry' elevator and it then comes down, but nothing I do will activate the exit elevator nor can I take the entry elevator up to blink over to the exit.
