Why not create a specific separate league without any death punishment as a test?
Let me preface this by saying that playing POE2 for the first time was an incredible experience, especially ACT1 and 2! And I still enjoy running maps in the most parts.
Despite being in early access, POE2 is one of my favorite games of 2024 which was surprising to me since POE1 didn't hook me when I tried it almost a decade ago. Congrats to GGG! You guys are building something really special and I can't wait to see what's next! Though, my biggest issue right now is that dying feels incredibly bad for no reason at all. Usually, I enjoy playing video games to unwind and relax for an hour or 2 after a long day of work. And when I'm tired, I do sometimes make mistakes. In most games, it's not a big deal, but in POE, it literally means losing 1 or 2 days of progress which makes me want to alt+f4. It also makes me have weird in game behavior like pressing the escape button and logging out then in again if I'm in a tough spot which feels counterintuitive and not fun at all. Right now, if I'm tired I refrain from playing POE in the first place fearing that I'll waste too much progress. This game is in Early access, it's probably going to iterate on mechanics a lot and changes heavily with time. Given how vocal the community has been about not wanting punishing death mechanics, why not make a special separate league where you don't lose XP or maps when you die and see how the player base reacts? We have Hardcore and SSF, maybe we could have a casual league too? I honestly feel that not punishing deaths can also give the devs the opportunity to take bolder approach to boss fights and would encourage the players to attempt more content and be more creative with their builds. Right now, the best approach for any boss and map is to vastly outgear it and ignore all its mechanics. It makes most content feel too similar. We don't care about the moment to moment fights, we only care about the drops after we win! Bosses, for the most part, are incredibly well designed. Getting to learn them, die to them often, then finally win because of perfect execution would feel so much better in my opinion. And for that to happen, we need to have unlimited tries. Of course we would have boss HP resets on failures to avoid cheeses. Killing Isshin in Sekiro or Orphan of KOS in Bloodborne after hours of tries felt incredibly good in part because I didn't feel punished for failing. I actually felt I was making progress when dying by getting better at the games and made me want to try even more, until I finally got there! Anyway, what do you guys think about having a third game mode with no penalties? Would you play it or would you stick to the current game more? Last bumped on Jan 20, 2025, 10:42:52 PM

They will never do it,it's same like adding skip to acts.It will never happen since most will use both options and GGG knows it.
