Endgame mapping Quest/s Doesn't Make any sense- and it's boring
If you level normally, you should be around character level 65-67 entering maps at the end of the campaign. Completing a Tier 1 waystone/map gives you ~30-50% of a level in XP. (Tier 1 Waystones =monster level 65, +1 per Tier.) So why are the Endgame Quests; 10- Tier 1, 2, 3... waystones? This doesn't make any sense and it's so boring. If you completed 10- T1 waystones, then 10- T2, you would instantly outlevel the content. This should be adjusted to keep the character out of the XP penalty range at the very least. (Max 5 waystones, T1-10...or kill 2 T1 bosses etc.)

You don’t have to do T1s, it’s T# OR HIGHER. You could go do nothing but T15s if you are strong enough.

PoE has always been balanced around a heavy experience penalty in endgame. if you're expecting to be in level 95 zones or something at level 95, it's not going to happen.

" This is correct. The quest is T1+ . If you do a T4 stone, you still get credit. The quests are still pretty repetitive since the next one is doing 10 T2+, etc, but you're not stuck at that tier specifically. |

I'm aware it is T1, T2 "OR Higher", etc. My point is that it is boring and Needlessly repetitive. (If it took ~10 T1's to get from level 65 to 66 then it would make more sense to me. Still boring, but I could at least see the logic behind it.) Atlas progression is already too Slow AND the Quests don't make sense for a typical character's progress into Endgame. You still need to do 10 Tier 1 'or higher' (T2, or T15 etc.) then 10 more 'x' maps for Tier 2 and so on. You can only have one quest active at a time and they must be done in sequential order. (i.e. - Doing 10 T2 maps for the 'T1 quest' doesn't give you credit for the 'T2 quest'.) In fact I'd bet most players will actually do the Tier specified as it is fairly challenging to gather 10 of each Tier as you are making your way up the first time. I am fully aware that level 84-86 is generally the area level cap in POE. That's not the point all. (This is mainly concerning level 65-80 zones.) You go from end of campaign at level ~64/65 to doing 10 T1 (or higher) where it should be 3-5 of each tier maximum or 3- T1 waystones and a T1 boss for example. It just doesn't flow well out of the campaign in my opinion the way it is now. Whoever designed those quests seemingly hasn't leveled a build and then started maps out that way.
All I want from POE 2 is for the quests to be interesting, fun, challenging and make sense for the average character to complete. They could do so much more with those quests to make the endgame better for new players and experienced players alike.. but instead we have 'Do 10 Maps', 'now Do 10 more'.. GGG already agrees the current Quests are too boring. Well, they don't make sense either. |
