Can not generate Rage with corrupted warstaff

I have a corrupted warstaff, which got "Gain 1 Rage on Hit" as corruption outcome.

I can not generate any Rage, with any "attack" skill i tried. I tried both ranged and melee.

I also let some monsters hit me, in case there was a mistake and the real mode was "Gain 1 Rage when Hit by something" but i'm not generating Rage anyway.

Anyone got the same issue?

The class is a Chayula's Adept Monk. Unfortunately I don't have enougth dexterity to try the corrupted weapon on my Titan, so I can not test it with other characters.
