PC Controller Feedback
I generally don't use a controller for gaming, but nerve issues mean I am forced to for the next few months/years. Overall I'm enjoying the game with controller and glad it works as well as it does.
My main issue: - An option to permanently show item level + affix tiers would be great. Holding left stick is frustrating when you want to scan across multiple items or sort your stash. Other misc issues I've noticed in no particular order: - Rebinding UI keys is hopefully planned, and would probably be useful. - Sometimes items cannot be picked up because the label is not close to ground item. In PoE1 you can toggle labels to reset positions, but can't figure out how to do this in controller UI. - Sometimes attacks fire in the wrong direction. That is, I point RIGHT with right stick but attack will go LEFT to nearby enemy. - Quick-stash is broken on stashes outside campaign. Trials are most annoying but also affects first map in act 2 + 3. - Folders are annoying to use. I have no idea on a good solution here! Just that on K&M I used folders extensively, and avoid it on controller. Easier somehow to have 20 top level tabs that to have folders. Having a single key press to enter a folder would probably help. - Controller vibrates for too many things? Overall useful. Maybe an option to disable vibrating on minion-related events. - Auto-equipping staff/wand spells onto action bar is sometimes annoying/surprising. - Sometimes it's difficult to focus on an item I want. Maybe user error here, but I will flick left stick to jump to something and it will go to a nearby item instead. Likely a problem with Item Snapping, but disabling this causes more problems. Some more issues / thoughts.
- Reforging Bench is painful to use on controller. There should at least be a 'reforge' hot key. And a hotkey to 'take item'. Otherwise you need to navigate left from inventory, click button, navigate up to item, take item, navigate back to inventory. PAINFUL!!!! ![]() - When using currency the right analog stick snaps to usable items. This is great! Please enable this when filtering stash/shop so it snaps to nearest filtered item. - Stash should remember filter when you close it. Shops already do this and it's great. - Here is an example of my previous point about it sometimes being difficult to navigate between inventory items. It seems like it does not take the exact angle into account when deciding where to move it, but instead rounds to nearest orthogonal direction? In example, it's impossible for me to navigate to waystone from any of the nearby items. on thing i really hope for because some skills are a nightmare to use with controller: there is the option to aim and place skills (for example grenades) if you hold the button pressed and aim with the right analog stick, please make it so the game remembers my last input so i can preset the distance i want to cast that skill because in combat there is no time to hold a button pressed for a second and select the placement every time i use it, in that time you are already surrounded and almost dead. this would allow to use skills like grenades, lightning rod, vine arrow etc. to be used as intended, because now if there is a pack of monsters and i shoot a vine arrow, grenade... it always auto-targets the one monster furthest away, making this sort of skills almost useless. |

good points. switched to controller because moving in more than 8 directions feels way nicer for fighting. Auto targeting should focus closest enemy and any right stick input should override auto targeting. Also being able to switch input without logging out would be so nice.

" Huh? It works again like it used to. There's an option to automatically show advanced info by default on compare. Also without it on you don't need to hold LS anymore, just 1 press |
