Ice strike & Increased elemental damage with attacks
I have a weapon with increased elemental damage with attacks.
Would this be applied to ice strike? Ice strike converts physical to elemental, but would the increased elemental still be applied after the conversion? Last bumped on Jan 23, 2025, 7:14:03 AM

Short answer:
Yes, to the elemental part after conversion. Long answer: Conversion happens before damage modification through increased/reduced and more/less multipliers. Then for each damage type the applicable modifiers are applied. So increased physical to physical, increased damage to everything, increased elemental to cold/fire/lightning and so on. Increased elemental damage on a weapon is a global increase modifier. In PoE there is the distinction between Increased/Reduced and More/Less. Increased/Reduced is always additive, More/Less always multiplicative. The only exception is increased physical damage on a weapon. This is a local modifier that effects the displayed value of the weapon itself and is therefor calculated first and only at this point. For further calculations this has no effect. As for the increases, all of them are combined to form one single multiplier. Lets say you have 100% increased elemental damage on the weapon, 200% increased elemental damage from the tree and 50% increased cold damage from the tree. All three apply to cold damage. Lets say you have 100 cold damage. This would result in this formula: 100 * ( 1 + 1 + 2 + 0.5 ) = 450 cold damage The 100 is the base cold damage, the first 1 is the base 100% damage, the second 1 is the 100% increased elemental damage from the weapon, the 2 is the 200% elemental damage from the tree and the 0.5 is the 50% increased cold damage. Lets say we add More damage from support gems, 35% and 30%. Then the formula would look like this, because it is multiplicative: 100 * ( 1 + 1 + 2 + 0.5 ) * ( 1 + 0.35 ) * ( 1 + 0.30 ) = 789.75 cold damage Last edited by Avaricta#4758 on Jan 18, 2025, 3:17:56 PM

By base damage u mean the avg damage right, since theres a range of dmg on a weapon.
