Performance Issues in Maps

I built a computer specifically for PoE2 last year, and my system should absolutely overkill the recommended requirements for the game. I play other much more demanding games flawlessly, but for some reason, PoE2 has been really challenging my rig.

Windows 11
AMD Ryzen 7 7700 8-Core
Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070
32GB 5200mHz DDR5 RAM
1 TB SSD
All graphics, audio, chipset, BIOS, etc. drivers up to date.

During the campaign, the game played perfectly, even with more enemies and things happening on screen than in maps, but for some reason, certain things during mapping will half my FPS, even if there's less actually happening on screen.

Eventually I started experiencing regular crashes on loading and startup, which I eventually fixed, although I'm not sure which of the changes I made, if any, were responsible for fixing the problem, or if it was something on the client's end, etc. There's so little consistency for the problems I'm experiencing that it's made it extremely difficult to pinpoint where the actual problem is and what the problem is.

I've made so many changes that I'm not even sure if the changes are doing anything positive or negative, because things will be fine one day, and I'll think I've fixed the problem at hand, then it comes back later, or I experience something that wasn't a problem before, but now is, etc. I'm fairly knowledgeable about computers, but I'm not a computer science major or anything like that, and I'm not sure if these fixes conflict with one another, or are creating problems I don't realize.

I've played around with dozens of fixes:

• Launch commands from steam (--USEALLCORES, --NOASYNC, --NOLOGO, --WAITFORPRELOAD)
• Compatibility options in Windows (Disabling game bar, enabling game mode, high performance priority for PoE2.exe/PoE2_64x.exe, VRAM manually set)
• Shader cache cleared
• Compatibility in the PoE2 application itself (Windows 8 compatibility, Disabling full screen optimizations, running as administrator, override high DPI scaling behavior)
• NVIDIA Control Center (optimize PoE2.exe/PoE2_64x.exe, overlay disabled, prefer maximum performance)
• NVIDIA Control Panel (shader cache increased to 100GB, global VSYNC on (off in-game)
• Playing around with all in-game settings, audio, etc.

Is the problem even on my end? I understand the game is early access so maybe there's a lot of optimization and whatnot on their end to fix.

Is there something I'm missing? Does anyone with a little more knowledge about this kind of thing see anything fishy or have any recommendations? It's really hard to find any information about what actually works or doesn't; when I read posts, some replies say one thing, others say another, others say they're wrong, etc. It seems like there's no actual consensus on what works or not. The same goes for videos; there's hundreds of videos saying all kinds of different things, with half the comments saying it fixed everything, the other half saying it's not working, etc. A lot of it just seems like clickbait and pushing their channels instead of actually trying to fix people's problems.

Yes, it should overkill.

But PoE 2 currently lacks optimization (even for consoles) and seems like it's not a big priority for GGG.

I have the same problems, I don't have the same hardware as you but mine is still better than the recommended one.

I opened a post and also wrote to support, they said that "you have to open a post in the forum and wait for someone from the team to respond" and after a month nothing has changed.

Then I wrote another email again and said that I had no response and that nothing had been resolved.

After 3 days they responded to me saying that my problem had been reported to the staff and that someone would answer me.
But I think it's the usual "pre-made" answer.

I fear these issues will be fixed when the game comes out.

It is priority but let me tell you how "dev work" is going.

In order to fix something related code, which obvious here ; you need to re-trace all codes to fix somethings.

In my sight , they wait long enough to do so with other fixes. There is no way a cpu with 4.0+ ghz with 8 cores should run slow this game.

I also wait Nvidia for driver update since 566,36 and 566,45 won't cut it. Clearly it is unoptimized. I get more fps with NIS instead of DLSS (all).

Things will heal in time i assume.
