Sceptre wont allow the socketing of gems

My Sol Roar Rattling Sceptre won't permit gems to be socketed into it. I get the following message - The support can't be socketed into this skill.

Despite the gems being able to be socketed in a lower item with the same ability.

When trying to socket, it also causes the game to crash, and I am unsure if that's a link or another issue.

I am having this exact issue. I initially thought it was me not meeting str/dex requirements but that's not it, because when I equip my old sceptre I can suddenly equip all the support gems again.

Did your sceptre happen to have the 'reduced attribute requirements' mod on it? Maybe that's what's causing the bug?

Same issue, and yes, the sceptre I picked up has "reduced attribute requirements" on it

wtf man, had mine equipped, and then unequipped a couple of support gems to change them out, now i can't put ANYTHING back in, and yes, confirmed, my really nice sceptre does have the attributes roll. I'm so angry right now. PLEASE FIX THIS BUG, THX!

getting enough attributes to use without reduced requirements avoids the bug

I can confirm this is still happening to sceptres.
