I actually dont mind MF that much

To be clear - I've rolled about 70-120% MF and not more than that, I don't have it on every item but I did notice a notable drop increase from the couple affixes on gear I gave up for MF. I was still able to res cap etc.

The only problem I would have with MF is if there's no diminishing returns on Magic Find. To me the target MF should be something you casually come about but do not necessarily feel like maxing out on every item. Obviously a lot of people run higher MF than I do but I also don't mind that too much. I suppose in SSF especially in HC, which I have started the necessity of magic find when you really want to have all your stats in order earlier could be more impactful. I just don't want the devs to think everyone hates the state of rarity. Personally I think maybe your build is too OP if you can run 600% MF easily -- I also do not play in groups yet and do not understand how it works, like if you can just have an MF bot for your group that could be a problem for sure.

I'd say a small nerf on the top end would be nice, but definitely dont get rid of a stat like this it makes the game more interesting not less. It's the necessity of it on every single piece which most people dislike.

PoE 1 had has it fair share of how broken magic find was and how much it impacts the economy. The recent MF boogaloo in Affliction, the lootgolbin in Kalandra or Meatsack farm in Necropolis, The Windripper MF back then with Shaper-Elder ping pong.

GGG have all the resources and data regarding MF and its impact, how to minimize the downside for majority of playerbase, and even if the solutions are not perfect, the current MF state in Settlers are fine. There are many many ways for players to accumulate wealth / resources outside of magic find and the distribution of item quantity / rarity are heavily focused on the maps (map rolls, scarabs, league contents, atlas passives, etc).

That being said,..... it baffles me on why the devs suddenly forget all of that and implement the MF the way it is in PoE 2. It would make sense if the current state of MF in PoE 2 is accompanied by other league contents that accommodate builds that can't fit / hard to fit rarity mods on their gears, or don't have the clear speed of spark / deadeye / herald users, to also accumulate wealth and resources on par with MF builds. On top of that, concentrating the loot on breach, a notorious time-based mechanic that favors zoom-zoom one-tap aoe clear no aim needed braindead build.

I get it that its EA and the endgame contents are clearly rushed. But I just kinda have the impression that GGG forget all the lessons from all MF shenanigans in PoE 1.

I don't mind magic find at all, if people want to play MF, let them be. But remember that this game is designed around trading with other people, if one end of the spectrum can accumulate wealth much much more than the other end, it wont end well for the game. The loot might be balanced around top 10% or even 1% players that just play MF, and it will be suck for everyone.

What I would like to see on how to balance MF, beside distributing loots like PoE 1, make rarity mods to completely removed from most if not all rare items mod pool. Some unique items should be tailored around magic find but they also need to balanced on either to have bigger penalties, or ok-ish rarity roll without much penalties. Currently, META MF build can just blast through juiced t15 or t16 breach maps without having a care in the world, high dps, insane mobility, insane survivability and clear, while also have high rarity stat.
two 93+ characters not running MF because I dont really care about stacking currency in EA. just trying stuff out but here I am with not a single perfect jewelers drop

this is not right.

having to run a separate build for loot instead of just running high level stuff is stupid.

yes the game has no fucking loot if you don't run MF and it's disgusting how devs pretend it's not a problem in that cringe interview.

but we all know the reason, RMTers buy as much (if not more) EA access and premium tabs as players do.

game is balanced around bots and RMTers farming. not avg player just trying to progress normally.
