Game key not found

Hello, my friend game me an early access key and when I applied it to my steam account i was able to download the game but when i opened the game it is unable to allow me to play, its still saying i need an early access key to play the game but the early access key that was given to me DID work to download the game so it was valid, theres just some discrepancy between my account and the game. Is there anyway to fix this? it says "Your account does not have access to Path of Exile 2 Early Access. Bribe a friend who has a spare key or purchase now." but my key worked in steam

It sounds like your friend may have accidentally given you a Steam Client Key instead of an Early Access Key. The Steam Client Key is solely to grant your account the Path of Exile 2 client in the Steam library, and does not grant access to the early access in and of itself.
You would need to apply a PC Early Access Key to your account to gain access. You redeem these here and after doing so you can obtain your own Steam and Epic Client Keys from your early access page. The Steam and Epic Client Keys are not supposed to be given away, which is indicated by the warning accompanying them on your early access page stating that they should not be given away. You may want to check with your friend to make sure they've given you the correct key! |
