I've lost investment in maps... Again... cuz instance is dying

I have an ongoing problem that makes me downright sick of playing. Every few maps the instance crashes and both the mechanics superimposed on the map, the map and all the collected loot from my inventory disappear. I can understand and get over the fact that I lose both the mechanics and the map, but the loot I have collected for the inventory? SERIOUSLY GGG? Please do something with that...
