Ritual just crushed my soul

Today, after about 70 maps of rituals of finding almost nothing of value, I have finally seen the first big drop - a Omen of Sinistral Erasure.

Turns out, this single item costs 23400 tributes to purchase, and its deferral price is 3500+ tributes.

I was barely able to gather 3k tributes on 4 ritual pyres, and I had to spend 1000 tribute to refresh to get this loot, which means there is no way I could purchase something like this even if I manage to encounter it in the extremely rare cases.

This just crushed my soul.

Why did I even bother? At this rate, I will never see the audience with the king which costs a whoaping 6 divines, I will never be able to level up my atlas skill points, which means even if the ritual drops me something good, I will never be able to purchase it anyways.

This feels extremely terrible.

This feels like you have worked so hard towards a goal, and played everything fair and square, follow all the rules and in the end they can just simply tell you no and turn you away from your rewards.


I have been enthusiatically playing this game for 250 hours and this is the straw that broke the cammal's back. I am not sure if ggg understand how difficult it is for a normal player to gather 6 divines, and to miss 9 divines when it is at the tip of your finger is the definition of soul crushing.

I am trying my very best to not be emotional and be constructive, but this is not something I could just shrug off and be understanding about. I feel mocked and insulted

I would never run Ritual in poe 1 without fully speccing into it first for exactly this reason but in poe 2 they had thhe big brain idea to gate speccing into Ritual behind killing the Ritual boss 4 times.... WHAT LMAO. So yeah unless you want to buy 4 audience with the Kings first, I would never run ritual.

On the flip side of this I found an audience with the king randomly after accidentally starting a ritual and decided to finish lol. Took 5 defferals and 8 Ritual maps to purchase but was obviously worth it. Still not running Ritual again though lol

Yeah it is annoying.

It is something along the lines of: "Do you wanna make real money? Have 1 million dollars first"

Ritual atm is just broken... but, if anything, money is garantee selling anything from this mechanic.

I'm against spending currency on such things - this is part of the game, so it should work. I do farm breaches on t15/t16 and higher if possible, but when I see rituals I do them as well, so once I saw that King thing, couldn't buy it, deferred it, then I ran a bunch of ritual maps specifically looking for it - it never showed up again. Waste of time.

How did GGG think this was ok?

I will never stop repeating it: all they had to do is take PoE1 and just make a better version of it, new campaign, add classes etc. Even the gems change is okay.

Everything else is just better in PoE1. Crafting, atlas, all the league mechanics, ascendancy trials could get updated, but not changed into Sanctum/Ultimatum when both leagues had their share of problems and players did point them out in countless posts, like the melee being unable to run Sanctum back in the day and oh wow such a huge discovery - it still sucks for them, who woulddathunk?! lol
