Shock related stats
Hello, I can't find anywhere on my character sheet nor in my skill dps breakdown any information on my cumulative "Chance to shock" and "Shock duration". Does the game display those values anywhere? Or do I need to count them myself from all the passives/jewels/gear used? And lastly, is Strike Twice and Overcharge multiplicative? I've heard most similar bonuses/penalties are cumulative, however in this case it would give me -100% shock duration, so I do hope they're multi.
Thanks a lot for any info on this, cheers! Last bumped on Jan 14, 2025, 11:23:12 AM

They went to a weird way to inflict elemental ailments based on enemy 'ailment threshold', which is allegedly based on the total life of the enemy with modifiers.
I believe the way that it works is if the respective elemental damage from your hit would deal damage to an enemy equal to 100% of its hit points, then you would have a 100% chance to inflict the ailment for that damage type. If the damage from your hit would ordinarily inflict 5% of the total life of the enemy, and you have 100% increased chance to shock, and 50% more chance to shock, then the 5% chance derived from your damage becomes 10% due to the 100% increased, and 15% after applying the 50% more. This isn't shown anywhere in the tooltips, because it varies based on the actual damage rolled by the hit and the elemental ailment threshold of the enemy that you are attacking. EDIT: To answer your second question, Strike Twice and Overcharge are both 50% less. All 'less' and 'more' modifiers are multiplicative with each other. So if you have no 'increased' or 'decreased' shock duration from any source, then it would be the default shock duration (4s) multiplied by 50% for Strike Twice and then multiplied by 50% again for Overcharge. So 4s x 50% x 50% = 1s It's worth noting that +2 maps are a dangerous thing. They can cause players to get out of their depth - playing maps that are too hard for the items they currently have. " Thanks for the breakdown of how this works. However, even tho the chance to shock depends on my damage, there are still modifiers that increase this chance (like in the example you provided). So I guess the game doesn't show those modifiers anywhere in a cumulative fashion? " I see, so the exact wording indicates if it's [+] or [x]. Thanks for clarification. " The game does not condense and display those modifiers anywhere. The best thing to do would be to put your tree into a skill tree planner that summarizes your nodes, and then include any modifiers from equipment, skills, etc. This is a pretty good planner: https://maxroll.gg/poe2/passive-tree/ " Not quite. The 'increased' modifiers are still multiplicative, but they all get added together before they are applied, while the 'more' modifiers are all individually applied multiplicatively. This applies uniformly throughout the game. So if you would do 100 base damage and you have 300% increased damage, 30% more damage, 15% more damage and 25% less damage, you would have: 100 x 400% x 130% x 115% x 75% = 448.5 It's worth noting that +2 maps are a dangerous thing. They can cause players to get out of their depth - playing maps that are too hard for the items they currently have. Herp Derp. Last edited by RickyDMMontoya#7961 on Jan 14, 2025, 11:23:20 AM
