Citadels

What happens if you fail one? Do you have to find another or same type or one will never be able to do monolith?
Wiki says "Failing against any of these bosses will cause that citadel to be considered failed and no longer accessible.". This is confusing.

Failing the citidal- dying to anything in the map- means you cannot attempt it again. A new citidal must be found.
