Massive FPS drops in multiplayer games

Playing solo, my fps is fine, no issues.

Joining a group or even hosting a group, my FPS used to be manageable at 30fps, now it is dropping to single digits after the most recent patch.

Does anyone know of anything that can possibly help? I have tried turning all my game settings to low, deleting shader cache in the %appdata% folder, uninstall and reinstall the game, switch in game servers, none of this has worked.

Its really upsetting, I have been playing consistently with groups and up until recently the fps in my game has gone down the toilet, causing char deaths, missing out on loot and wasting my time grinding experience.
