Loot filter causes massive CPU hangups in this game randomly
|
On some maps/zones they will be extremely laggy without a single item on being on the ground, I thought there was some server side issue for some time but I noticed my CPU latency was spiking pretty hard on specific maps. If I turn off the filter, it goes back to normal (even if no loot has yet dropped). This also occurs for me in only about 1/10 maps, so theres something weird behind the scenes going on with loot filters and cpu lag causing the game to move very slowly for 15-20 seconds followed by everything moving like Sonic the Hedgehog.
I've tested this with a 300 line filter vs a 3000 line filter and I don't really see any difference, both cause the same amount of lag for me as I thought maybe the filter I was using was too strenuous. I am using an Intel i9-14900KF (no degradation) for reference. The fix I've found is whenever I get on a laggy map I turn my loot filter off, turn off all items on screen then clear the map and load my filter back on and loot the map. Kind of annoying, please take a look at this. I would think maybe it was my machine if it was every map but its only about 1/10 maps and theres no rhyme/reason to it that I can tell other than delirious/breach seem to make it worse when combined with the filter, but even then its only a fraction of my maps that lag since I run those every single map. Edit - After further testing I can see my CPU still being jacked on these maps, but its not nearly as noticeable.. the game barely stutters when I turn off my loot filter but its still there. The problem isn't the filter, it just greatly exacerbates it. The issue seems to be very poor optimization with CPU's, I can see a lot of people having this issue. This is insane but its a huge issue. I Read this and have been crashing maps and loosing breachs left and right (literally every breach for 6 maps crashed lost all my loot exp and the map so HUGE waste of time) I read this and while I cannot loot anymore I can play... I cannot loot because the loot is so massive you couldn't hope to handle it without a filter.

Yo, turn the loot filter back on once you clear the map, no need to lose your loot. Since there is no spells/enemies your CPU has much reduced load and you can loot the map in peace after clear. Its the only workaround I've found.
