Merge Accounts?

So apparently I have 2 POE accounts. 1 from when I played on Steam forever ago, and 1 that is connected to my xbox where I've played mostly and also play POE2 early access on. If I connect my steam account to the POE account that's already connected to my xbox, will that merge the accounts? I'm building a new PC and would like to start playing POE2 on that once it's complete but all my MTX and coins are on the xbox account. I want to make sure I keep the cross progression. Thanks!

If all your mtx and stash tabs and coins are on xbox then after you merge you'll have two sub accounts afterwards and you should just be able to use the xbox sub account on pc and have everything except the coins though (but just use them on xbox and whatever youd buy would also show up on pc as long as you use the xbox sub account) (also you'd have to buy EA again on pc just a heads up)

Np also when you finally switch to pc and you log in for the first time it might show no characters and the drop down menu wont show up to select sub accounts so just make a new character and then log out to character select screen and then the drop down menu to select sub accounts should show up top right
