Trial Of Sekhemas on PS5
I enjoy the trials, i find them challengin And engaging, and the loot seems to be very solid in my runs. Still going for my 4th ascendancy.
I play on PS5, and from watching videos of other people doing the “time” trials. (I forget what they’re called… the ones where you have to click the stones before the timer runs out) - I noticed that PC players are very easily able to outperform PS5 players simply in that they can click on the stone with no difficulty, while PS5 players have to either make sure all nearby enemies are dead, or fiddle with R3 until it becomes clickable. Ive definitely taken some hits while standing around trying to click a stone, and I’ve even lost a trial or two from realizing I can’t click, trying to fight enemies that are coming at me one by one preventing the click for multiple seconds etc. I think an easy solution to this would be to simply add in a proximity “auto-click”, so just getting within a few meters of a stone activates it, for both PC and PS5 players. For PS5 players it would take away the targeting frustration entirely, and changes nothing about the difficulty of the map other than negating the challenge of using a controller’s targeting system vs a mouse’s ability to simply click an object. I play on controller so know what you mean, solution is to dedicate a button to interact so the game can't get confused as to your intention
I have mine bound to dpad down. |

I’ve left my X button dedicated to interact from the start. You should never have an attack on it for this reason. The skillbar swap key is there if you need more binds, though it is a bit clunky (it cancels held skills when you use it).

I did the same as the both of you and used a specific bind for the interact button, however down on the d-pad is what I use to see the full map, and removing one button entirely from my skill bind dedicated to interact with objects feels bad, so I reverted back to default with interact and a skill on the same button.
Outside of that single time trial event the skill bind/interact situation essentially never affects me. Maybe I can't grab an item because a mob is nearby - I kill the mob, I grab the item. Solved. Only the time trial has presented me with a situation I've found frustrating to the point of thinking "this should probably change." I don't think the intent of the time trial is to have players struggle at all with clicking or activating a stone, whether it's PC or PS5. I don't think they said to themselves "this object should require interaction so players can prove their ability to click a thing quickly while on the move" So if there's no need to click the stone to accomplish the intended experience, I think, why have to click the stone at all? Let me just run up close to it. |

Changed my mind, wiped out my post. It should just prioritize interact on the crystal when you press the button instead of a skill, rather than making it automatic. Problem solved.

They probably can, my monk certainly prioritises bell over anything else
Maybe make it so you hit it rather than interact with it (although that might screw minion builds up? Idk) Thematically, whacking the crystal makes more sense anyway Last edited by Strangehill#1736 on Jan 10, 2025, 5:02:52 PM
