There should be endgame versions of early game uniques
Some early game unique items are so cool and fun but you eventually need to removed them from your build because they have low stats. If there were more powerful versions of them dropping later on the game, there would be more cool options of builds

" GGG just needs to copy the mechanics of "Legendary Potential" from Last Epoch. It an incredibly good system and IMO the best feature LE added to the genre - I don't know why GGG didn't learn from it. https://maxroll.gg/last-epoch/resources/legendary-items-crafting-guide |

" Hard disagree. While I think LP was a cool idea it would almost completely nullify the opportunity cost of using unique items in PoE, which I think is a very important part of the game's design philosophy around gearing. If you can just slam mirror tier gear into kiss / curse uniques there's almost no point in the philosophy. We'd end up with items that are essentially very convoluted stat sticks. While I do like the LP system I feel it does come with the downside of feeling tedious to be chasing simply a better version (more LP) of the same unique over and over again. In PoE if you need a specific unique for your build which comes from a specific pinnacle boss you just need it to drop once (there are exceptions) and then it can be divined if required. PoE 1 used to have the prophecy uniques which could be cool to see return. Make Things For Smile!

" Would actually prefer the inverse of LP – the ability to transfer an affix from a low-level unique onto a rare with an available affix slot. |

I think a bigger problem is leveling wands and stuff are hard to actually get because you’ll mostly find ones with level 15+ innate spells so you can’t transfer them to an alt.

Some obviously mundane uniques, especially those with mostly "better" damage than their rare counterpart, really need a better Advanced or Expert version. It's really bad to get an unique when farming maps and find out that it's the same lvl 10-15 useless X weapon that does nothing else than helping level up an alt from lvl 10 to 25.
On the other hand, some game changing / build defining uniques need to keep their lower stats to be balanced. You need to factor in whether you're ready to tolerate their lower stats for their unique effect, and I'm totally fine with it. Last edited by pyrocyborg#0256 on Jan 7, 2025, 5:10:36 PM

" didnt the idea originally come from a bug in wolcen? there was some way to mash 2 items together in wolcen, my memory is so vague but essentially there was a bug where instead of mashing together 2 rares you could mash a rare into a unique and end up with this really weird mix of unique and rare stats. if i remember right they eventually removed it and took away our gears lol, as if anything mattered in that game they should just have left it tbh. they said something about maybe bringing it back in a more designed intentional way but i dunno if that ever happened, i stopped playing, so did everyone else and the game died. but i have a feeling thats where LE got the idea from. I love all you people on the forums, we can disagree but still be friends and respect each other :)

I am sure there will be at some point.
But as we all know from one of their interview videos ... GGG decided to shift from finishing act 4-6 to instead introduce some form "endgame" just 4 month ago. Simply not enough time to creat all the "endgame" or higher level type of uniques. Very understandeble, not? PS: and yea, PoE 2 allready has more (even if not perfect) endgame then other games of this hack&slay genre :). Last edited by Schakar#4083 on Jan 7, 2025, 8:25:23 PM
