My feedback about Sorcerer so far

I have played mostly as a sorcerer so far, and here's my feedback:

Sorceress needs more good options of single target damage. The spells I enjoyed using the most were Ember Fusillade and Arc. A skill that deals great single target elemental damage to a single target based on your highest elemental damage (if you have great fire damage it deals fire damage, if you have great cold damage it deals cold damage and so on) would be very welcome.

The underperforming spells and tree nodes need to be buffed. I tried dozens of different builds (haven't followed any guide yet) and I always come back to using Arc, Archmage, and have a ton of mana. That's just what works best. And it's not because Archmage is busted, but the other skills just aren't as good. The spells that deserve a buff the most imo are Frostbolt, Eye of Winter and Ball Lightning.

I also think either Arhcmage should work with the other elements too, or the other elements should receive a skill similar to Archmage. Elemental Conflux isn't really as good because it buffs a random element.

Finally, I think Chronomancer would shine a lot more if there were more options of powerfull skills with a big cooldown. Currently the only skill that matches this description is Hammer of the Gods, but I think other skills, and specially a sorceress skill, would be really welcome.

It's obvious that someone at GGG decided that Lightning skills and spells should be better than the rest, or completely overlooked how the current skill/support/spirit gems and items steered a lot of builds towards it. I have no idea whether it's intentional or tied to the fact that many skills and items are missing from the unreleased classes, but right now, it makes a lot of "single element" builds feel bad compared to Lightning supported ones. This is even worse since Shock is a much better scaling ailment for most builds than Ignite or Freeze is, for example.

There should be a version of Archmage for every element (including chaos and physical), and they should make it so that you cannot use two Archmage buffs at the same time. It would feel more fair for those who don't want to be dragged into the Lightning meta. Maybe Archmage is too strong of a buff too, especially since it makes mana double-dip with the Mind over Matter keystone passive as a one stat offensive+defensive wonder.

Solid feedback, completely agree.

You're pretty much forced into one. or maybe two, builds with sorecerer.

Levelling your pretty much resstricted to spark and flamewall as none of the othe skills can hold up
Whole heartedly agree .

Poe2 has this awefmsome system for swapping talents based on spells and guess what I don't use....

Why don't I? Because it's pointless to spec out of 1 element ever because your entire build revolves around just the 1.

I played her, and was really enjoying her. Till I realized I went all the way into fire, and it was basically useless right around level 40 for bosses. Maxed out ignite damage and it was still taking me multiple minutes to kill a boss.

Then I realized they did some backwards move with Ignite, and changed how it worked compared to the first game. And realized the entire character was bricked unless I wanted to completely respec.

The ascendencies also don't feel great. Neither of them felt like a desirable choice. I didn't look at either of them and go "Oh heck yeah, this one looks fun". Which IMO, is a problem because that's kind of the point of a character bonus like that. To make things more interesting/fun.

Yeah, this feels worse if you want to play a fire/ignite build as none of the Sorceress Ascendancies seems tailored towards it (compared to Stormweaver which is multi-element or chill/shock-based ascendancy). You can play a fire using Stormweaver with shock and lightning damage on top of it, but to me, it doesn't have the same flavour as being a pure pyromancer or something.

It's possible that the third ascendancy is one that partially supports fire/ignite builds, but it's possible that the fire spellcaster has been sent to the Witch/Infernalist and that the third Sorceress ascendancy will be something else entirely and not related to a single element (a little bit like the Chronomancer which isn't exactly tied to an element or two).
