CI - defences and ailments question
Hi!
Just trying out a sorc, and going for Chaos Inoculation. i'm thinking about stuns, freezes, bleeding etc. I think stun is based on your life, even if you have ES you get stunned by the smallest hit? How is freeze threshold calculated, Bleeding, i think i'm immune right? Stuns and freezes should really be based on damage taken not just life... Last bumped on Jan 7, 2025, 7:21:22 AM

From my understanding, stun is based on max life. So you'll be stunned frequently if you get hit. However, there are nodes that allow ES to (partially) count towards stun threshold, to help mitigate the downside.
For bleeding, that's physical damage, so you're not immune. You're thinking of poison, which you would be immune to. (EDIT: Just checked in-game. Due to the changes to Bleed compared to PoE1, technically, you wouldn't be immune to bleed damage, but you would be immune to basically any source of it being applied, as a hit that would apply it would just kill you anyway.) For freeze threshold, I don't know the calculations, but I would assume it's similar to Shock/Ignite, where it builds based on the strength of the hit/damage, and not on your max life. Apparently CI on PoE2 is basically immune to bleed because bleeds on PoE2 is based on how much life gets chunked off from the initial hit.
I think I get stunned on almost every hit because my sorc moans all the time after getting even the slightest touch from monsters, but for some reason the stun animation is barely visible. I can still move. For freezes, I have a charm for that. Basically I didn't invest on anything at all to mitigate stuns and freezes. |
