Help on Fragmentation Rounds Witchhunter Authoral Build

Im currently doing a pure phys crit stun fragmentation rounds build and lacking damage on pinnacle bosses.
The clear and sustain is good on T15+, with full breach points on monster density and my question is what should I do for boosting the damage on the bosses.

For one, splinter doesn't work on HVR. Skills that consume a status effect cannot apply it (I think that is dumb but W/E).


Consider teching into either corrosion armour break explosion gas grenades or the skill node that breaks 50% armor on heavy stun + 100% armour break strength to get free armour break on stun.

You can stun with Frag rounds->break armour->consume with HVR on a loop with enough stun power. Or if you dont want to use HVR for dmg, just get the +100% dmg to armor broken enemies and increased duration of armor break to just use it as a dps increase.


Alternative to HVR you can make your weapon swap into a cold/freeze maxxing setup and use glacial bolt with fortress to tee up a big frag round hit (it has a 1000% increased damage mod against frozen.)

If you want to stick to a more shotgun style you can use the Fire->Cold conversion unique gloves with dragonfire rounds as your freeze and blast frozen enemies with frag rounds.


If you are going to go auto reload on stun, I would suggest double barrel for more consistency instead of inevitable crit. On bosses I would even suggest swapping out auto reload for nimble reload for more overall dps.

I actually tained the skill that breaks armour on heavy stun already, it got a good damage boost.

I almost always heavy stun mobs on first hit, thats why auto reload fits better for clearing, as i got +1 bolt on the weapon already. On bosses, I switch from auto reload to close combat, will try nimble reload and see if dps gets higher.

I've tried weapon swaping to a high damage mace to play with hammer of gods, but there was a passive skill conflict, even with weapon set points alocated to where I wanted. Dps isn't as good as Fragmentation Rounds.

Im thinking about getting some bleed points and see if its actually good.

About HVR, I never use it as frag rounds got 6L and damage output is higher.

Looking towards more upgrades and will update the topic whenever I get something reliable.

Nice yeah the break on stun is a big help. Don't forget the +100% increased damage to armor broken targets with 3 skill points.

I played a little bit slow to check the armour break status on the mobs.

Next points are going to the damage to fully broken armour. Rare and Unique monsters wont have damage increased since im just breaking 50% armour with the tained skill, so I think it should be more interesting to spend the next points on them.

If you get +100% increased armor broken from the tree that 50% armor break will be a full break. You get 40-60% increased broken armor from the passive tree wheel that has the +100% damage to fully broken enemies so you just need to find the other 40-60%. There is a armor breaking wheel a few points away from the break 50% armor on heavy stun node so it shouldn't be too hard to reach.



Your damage looks pretty good, the clear is nowhere near herald of ice abusing builds but it is a strong ethical build.
