Corrupted Infusion atlas passive should not lower waystone levels
I played quite a bit with "Corrupted Infusion" atlas passive, hoping to get more challenges/rewards, but at this moment, it's simply not worth using it.
You have a T16 waystone that you want to put in that Corrupted & Irradiated (=lvl 82 zone) boss map? Go ahead, your T16 waystone will likely re-roll into a T15 one, resulting in a lvl 81 zone. Not even once I've seen my map being up-leveled using this keystone, regardless of map mods & area level, only down-leveled (probably it's a bug here, but that's for another topic). I'm fine with adding difficulty/extra mods to your map, also with re-rolling the good mods, but making the zone level lower, exactly when you want it at the highest level possible, makes this keystone very unappealing. I don't think enough players were farming t15+ to test this out at the time of the post and that's why it hasn't gained traction but I can attest that I've not seen a map gain +1 to monster level either.
Upon double corrupting maps should have chance to gain a level, lose a level or stay the same or reroll affixes. This looks like an oversight or bug. I think as more players reach a comfortable power level to test this passive out this will become a wider concern. |

A few times I would run a T16 only see the monster level be wrong due to double corrupt lowering it. It's why I spec'd out. You put a lot of effort into juicing a node and making the right map for it only for the double corrupt to kinda wreck it. Felt too bad to continue risking.

I've never seen any of my maps get upped to level 83 either. What I figured works well for me (I play SSF) is speccing into this node when you only care about level 82 maps (for level 20 gems mainly) but don't have any T16 waystones. Most of the time Vaal'ing a waystone will not change its level so you end up having too many T15 corrupted waystones. At this point you want to spec into Corrupted Infusion node and do irradiated + corruption mod maps using all your corrupted T15 waystones for a chance to get a map to level 82. And in situations when you do get a waystone to T16 you want to unspec from this node. It's annoying to do all of this tbh but it seems to be very efficient way to maximize your chances of getting into level 82 maps.

I got rid of this talent when it turned a 6 prefix waystone into a 6 suffix waystone, on a tile with breaches and a boss. Biggest "actually could you don't" moment of games ever for me.
