Too many uncut skill gems?

Hi, so basically i have just entered maps, did couple T1's and i am wondering since my stash is filling up quickly with a huge amount of uncut skill gems. It got into the point i actually have no idea what to do with them, i have like level 14 40+x and its so annoying all those gems filling my not unlimited stash.. Are they really worthless later the game or is there some purpose for them to keep them -> use them somehow? Cuz i dont need any of them and i dont see point on keeping them, just asking if there is purpose for unnecessary uncut skill gems, before i destroy them.

You might need them if you want to gamble with some vaal orbs, otherwise you can stop picking them up.
