What Killed Me Here? "Video" & Another Death Penalty Rant.
Let me start by saying Im level 93 I have 370 hours in the game. Gear is worth several dozens of Div's. All Resistances Are Capped. 5.3 ES / 4.5 Mana (effectively 9.8k HP) CI / MOM / EB. This was an EASY waystone, No bad Suffix, Breach + Corrupted. Should have been a cake walk. Every once in a while you get this crazy mechanics going on that kills you in the blink of an eye and you have NO IDEA WHAT CAUSED IT, Or how to avoid this. 1+ Hours of mapping gone in the blink of an eye literal seconds. Pretty much instantaneous. There has been several times this happens and I have decided to turn on my Shadowplay Instant reply to start documenting all of these Deaths. Something needs adjusting on this damage. Why must i have to do Lower tier Waystones because im sick of The random T15's even when they should be a cakewalk to Level safely? I've been stuck at level 93 For 2 days because of these random deaths. IT FEELS BAD. TONE THE DEATH PENALTY.
Not to mention this was a Multiple Breach Map that I setup for hours hunting and Finally get one and it's gone in the blink of eye (This happens WAY TO FREQUENTLY) and feels SO BAD when you lose them. Hanging up my hat until further notice of this absurd damage mechanics. I shouldn't have to play t10 to level from 93 to 94 which would take apparently just as long as it has thus far because i Continue to die. https://youtu.be/pm_pL7r9A_M Last edited by TRYLLTV#2466 on Jan 4, 2025, 3:06:08 PM Last bumped on Jan 4, 2025, 4:05:38 PM

I'm stuck at level 91. I keep dying while wandering around the map without understanding what's happening. I have 3k HP and 27k Eva. They really need to fix this urgently. |

Came in expecting another low ehp, or some obvious multi-hit dangerous "white-mobs" that each hits for 20% etc
But well.. this is legit, can't explain what killed, and even if some theorycrafter wannabe could explain - it's bullshit to start taking damage at that range. It's almost as if such "mechanic" was done in spite of the players, they HATE their players and planted something that appears only 5% of the time, so you'll let your guard down since 30maps ago, everything was fine. BTW, the real grind for XP starts at 96-97 onwards... so imagine those players at that level... days wasted. |

I would post that video in a Bug Report thread as well. People tend to forget the version number for the game is less than 0.2 right now. Theres a LOT of instakill bugs in the game right now. Silverback and Colossus are obvious ones that are going to get fixed but these type of invisible deaths are invaluable to record and send for GGG.

The only thing i could guess is the danger didnt render, but looks like your hardware is far above that issue being probable.

" Breach mobs that are outside the breach circle? That happens in PoE1 as well I believe. |

I think there's a fire void zone/explosion being cast under you that, due to the enemies' increased speed, is too fast to avoid and also invisible next to the flame wall.
Not sure even if you knew beforehand you could dodge it, it looks too fast. |

Just look at the PoEDB2 site and look at the base attack damage (not accounting for skills modifier, and rare modifier, by the way rares have 70% more damage built in on top of everything).
Here is a white normal quadrilla at level 70 : https://poe2db.tw/us/Quadrilla , don't forget to take into consideration the "200% damage" to add to the basic attack damage, it's also without any modifier to maps and mods, etc. There is A LOT of these type of monster that instantly close in on you from beyond the map that deals litteral thousands of damage. It's litteraly impossible to survive some of them without at least 12k hp/es pool, so yup, playing life and armor won't save anyone, you actually HAVE to play ES and you also HAVE to play with grimfeast and everything if you don't want to be OSed by some random mobs with attack that actually don't render ._. It's an EA, but some of theses monster definitely needs a nerf Last edited by Demecus#2886 on Jan 4, 2025, 4:03:30 PM

" This is the correct answer. Breach monster when spawned can and will leave the circle if you're fighting/trying to attack from outside the circle and "disappear" including their attacks despite them still happening as they're tied to the circle. You'll quickly be overwhelmed by these monsters since you can't see or attack them and lack avoidance(dodge, block). The right play is to always stay within the breach circle once it is triggered which you should be doing either way as you'll lose out on loot otherwise.
