Invocation Skills vs other trigger skills and Invocated Efficiency
Currently, skills with 'invocation' in the name work with 'Invocated efficiency' but any other trigger skill which does not have 'invocation' in the name does not.
There are 2 problems with this: 1. There is no difference in gem tags - this is clearly some 'hidden' gem tag based on the naming of the skill. 2. Invocation skills are higher DPS than 'Cast on ...' skills already To demonstrate this second point, barrier invocation can have minion death feedback loops for infinite damage. Elemental invocation builds energy faster than CoC (since both are now based on ailment threshold anyway) and it has no damage penalty, if you are building energy as melee (quaterstaff monk for example) you can also link elemental invocation to a second weapon set (spell damage) and absolutely shred stuff. CoC is objectively weaker and yet, currently, invocation abilities are massively empowered with infinite mana through 'Invocated Efficiency' and 'Cast On ...' skills are left out in the cold. Now, I would rather play Cast on Crit than Elemental Invocation because I find myself never using my elemental invocation energy because I'm a paranoid angsty hoarder who always asks 'but do you really need to use it now?' and the answer is almost always 'no, not really, better save it'. As such, Cast on Crit is more FUN, or it would be if I could sustain mana and actually use it without a ridiculous in game budget which I do not have the time or skill to acquire. Please add all the 'Cast On ...' abilities to the hidden 'invocation' gem tag, you could even rename them things like 'Critical Invocation' or 'Invocation on Freeze' though really it should be 'Invoke on Freeze' but whatever. At the very least, maybe don't use hidden gem tags? Maybe unhide them or just make it 'trigger skills' instead of 'invocation skills'. Unintuitive stuff leads people to misunderstand mechanics and then play with broken builds for days. This then leads them to get frustrated and quit (I'm not being melodramatic, this is an actual thing that happens and I know GGG are already aware of this). Last bumped on Jan 4, 2025, 2:31:14 PM
