Suggestion: More incentives for weapon swap
Dear devs,
while people are starting to discover some really interesting weapon swap tech (e.g. to shock, to curse, to blink or to snapshot minions for sth. like The Dark Defiler unique etc.) I think there could be much more interesting opportunities to do so. As of now, too many builds are too straight forward in terms of synergies and are not using any weapon swap at all which is really sad. Of course this has also to do with attribute requirements for gems and gear as well as with balance in general, but let´s not digress. Let me give you an example of what I would love to see implemented in the future: The plague bearer skill scales incredibly well with gem level. The reason for that is probably because there aren't many ways to increase its gem level (+5 max from Gemling Legionnaire, passive tree, phys + chaos mastery supports and Crown of the Victor unique helmet which is too bad for endgame). It is already a very powerful skill in every dedicated poison build. However as of right now you can only use it efficiently in a bow poison build. But wouldn't it be much cooler to poison with bow skills and then weapon swap to + level to all chaos spells gear (staff or wand + focus) for the plague bearer poison nova? Right now that is not possible, because plague bearer does NOT have the spell gem tag. You would have to reduce the scaling with gem level a little bit so it is not too overpowered, but I think it would be much more interesting from a design point of view as you would be incentivized to aquire a powerful weapon swap set etc. As I have said: This serves just as one example. I just imagined that we would be weapon swapping between bow and mace, wand and Quarterstaff etc. to create crazy builds with crazy synergies a lot more and I hope we will get there one day.
