An actual Atlas tree for regular player (MF stack is useless on gear)
Hello everyone,
Here's a simple Atlas tree pathing to actually play "The Vision" with loots activated : Go up to take Teeming Horde and Local Knowledge, then take every increased +8% increased effect, take Precursor Influence, Enigmatic Intensification, Remnant of Power, travel top right to take Unstable Energies and the three pack nodes with it, go down to Constant Crossroad then bottom to Lucky Pillage, then even more down with Grueling Journey, get back to the starting point by taking the rarity mods next to Constant crossroad, then go down and take Fortunate Path. You'll end up with these stats : Local Knowledge 22% pack size 20% more waystones 40% increased effect of tablet 30% more quantity of tablet 20% chance to double effect of tablet 3% increase explicit modifier of tablet for every affecting tower 25% more effect of suffixes or prefixes when entering a map 9% more effect of waystone prefixes (buff/reward) 2% increase explicit effect by explicit effect on map 18% base rarity find Now, why is it better than having 450-600MF on your gear and going full rare monster+magic monster+pack size+modifiers ? First, let's explain how rarity works : It increases the chance for a dropped item to be of higher rarity/quality, and it's not 100% more for 100% rarity, it's 100% increased of the base chance for an item to be of higher quality, which is around 5% average, so with 100% rarity you actually have 10% chance for an item that drop to be of higher rarity, also meaning there's a SEVERE diminishing return (with 450 MF you'll have around 20%ish chance for the item to be of higher rarity, because it increases the base). But now with quant ? Well that's another story : Each time an item drop, you have your base chance to have an higher rarity item, and quant do exactly that. With 100% more quant, every time an ennemy drops an item, it will drop two, that's how we created lootsplosion on PoE 1 and the exact reason they had to remove it on gear. Now, let's say you have your 100% rarity, you now have around 10% chance for your item to be of higher quality each time somthing drop. And your loot is doubled, congratulation, you have achieved around the same result as a 450MF build, without putting any rarity on your gear. Enjoy the free slots. Some approximative maths : Well, here comes the precursor tablet and the insane scalling of it with that : Meaning it's increasingly multiplied by everything on the atlas tree. Let's say you do a basic 3 tower setup, with 3 irradiated or delirum with 8% increase rarity, you're supposed to have base 24% on every map you'll do, not so great, but at least it's something eh... BUT here comes the Atlas tree : When you enter the map, you add 40% of this, so 9.6%, you're up to 33.6% rarity, not so great but it's something, you have 20% for it to be doubled, 67.2%, not bad, but it's far from over, you have 3 tower, so it's a 9% increase of the base, so now it's not 67.2% it's : 24*1.09=26.16, 26.16*1.40=36.62, 36.62*2=73.24%, better, it would need a little more though... Good thing it will more than double right ? Waystones now come into play : Those are prefixes (they gives things), so now your waystone comes into play : Let's say you run a measly 20% rarity map : 9% increase, 21.6%, let's say you don't have regal anymore and just running blue maps, 2 prefixes, it's 4%, so 13%,so base is now 22.6, half a chance to add 25%, let's say you're somewhat lucky today : 28.25%, add your 18%, 46.25% rarity, you enter the map, you're supposed to have 119.49 rarity right ? Well, not quite, since every source of MF are actually explicits and prefixes : 119.49-18 (added flat rarity, not affected)+47% if I remember correctly ? 149.19% rarity. The same math apply to quantity. For the sake of my sanity, let's say you have the exact same % of quantity on your tablets and waystones : 136~% quant thanks to the atlas. Now let's compare it to 450% MF : around 20% chance to drop something better "That's why it's ABSOLUTELY MANDATORY ON BUILD YOU POOR !", let's compare : 149.19% MF will be around 12%, let's add quant , BOOM 29.4%. Still not a single gear with MF. Free. More slots. And it's not in the best case scenario, by that I mean you can have WAY more MF and quant on your map than the exemple, you can also have a lot more tower affecting the area, multiplying the tablets effect, hell, You can have maps with 300% quant+rarity after all the math, giving you around 80% chance of upgraded drops. And since it's on the map, it's not dependant on you killing things, meaning it's multiplicative with group play. And what's more to add than : it affects EVERYTHING you drop. Gold, gear, currency, etc. Last edited by Demecus#2886 on Jan 4, 2025, 1:26:54 AM Last bumped on Jan 4, 2025, 1:20:49 AM
